View Full Version : -20 Degrees and Canada Geese

We have a small warm water discharge from an elecrical plant on the river here and it keeps a portion of the water open year round. There are about 500 Canada geese that winter here because of the open water. So naturally, I wait until its -20 C and head out to try and get some pictures of them. Holding the camera steady was certainly a chore. Anyway here's a few from this morning.

good seies - might be tempted to clone out goose rear in last one.

If I saw a fat goose like that down here he would be a cooked goose.:lol:

Nice series. The light is especially nice in the first shot and the under wing detail is great in the last shot. Makes those frozen fingers worth it!

I agree..very nice. I love the second one. You got various points in the wing stroke in one shot. These birds just look so powerful.

Great shots.
Especially like the details on #3, it also shows the power of these birds.
Shots like these make the outing in the cold worthwhile.
