View Full Version : Photo sizes, can we agree on a size

Hi all,

Realise that this is a critique corner but is there an agreed size on the images to be uploaded? Photo.net uses 100K which is good as we dont all have broadband.

Alternatively for those of you reaching for your "bigger is better stickers" :) can we agree that each poster puts the size of the pictures in the post in the header. ie.

Close up of Flowers. 1 picture 2.4mb

Daughter with toys 2 pictures 450Kb

I think that most fall into the excepted standard quite quickly,.. approx 800X600 - 1100 X 800

Any images that are "Large" usually get linked to rather than directly displayed in the post.

Size is important to the viewer.
I do not have broadband and view at 800x600.

Any image that looks like it's going to take a while to download
gets the Stop Button immediately.

A safe size resampled in the editing program is around
550 Kb or less.

Another "turn off " for me is too many pictures on the one post. More than two and I bypass it.
Same reason. Long time loading.
