I've been a member of this forum for several years but haven't been an active participant for about a year. Anyway, I have a Canon G3 and am very happy with it. This camera seemed a little complicated for my wife and we also wanted something that could be carried in a purse or pocket, so last summer we bought a SD400 for her. She is very happy with the camera and so far has taken some pretty good photos with it. I don't know much about this model mainly because I'm happy with the G3 and haven't really used the ELPH. I recently purchased two more SD400s for my two grown sons as Christmas gifts. These will be their first digital cameras and they were really wanting something compact. My question is this, I haven't seen much discussion here regarding the SD400, is this model still a popular one? I know the camera has gotten great reviews. So what do you guys think, did I make a mistake?

Thanks for your help,
Doug

I think its still a good camera for its intended purpose. My son was gonna get one for his girlfriend for Christmas but since Best Buy couldn't locate the 6 they listed as in stock they let him have the updated SD450 version which has the 2.5" LCD thats a nice improvement.

I might even sell my Canon A95 and get me and the wife one to use as a backup on trips to my DSLR.
