Maybe it's the early morning, but the first one seems a litle out of focus. The second one is better, but might have worked more from the batsman's side, I am very keen to see a pic of the face of the bowler, he looks happy about taking the wicket.

Great timing... I know from personal experience how hard it is to get the 'holy grail' shot of the bails flying through the air.

The first shot looks a tadge soft, and the second capture seems a little underexposed to me. With cricket it is possible to pre-focus if you're shooting the batsman which can prevent the camera from focusing elsewhere by mistake - also, it's a good idea to use a manual exposure reading *using the grass as a basis) so that the players' whites don't fool the camera's meter into underexposure.

I'm impressed by your timing though and you must be proud of your kids! Can't wait for the cricket season to start again in England!

I've just posted some thoughts on cricket photography over in my Q&A thread if they're of interest: http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=116971&page=12 (post #175)

It is in the morning Daryn and I agree the first one is OOF.
This next one was taken just after the wicket had fallen.
Thank you all for your comments I am learning more every time I go out.
