Hi all,

Just a few pics from Aylesbury's 0-5 home defeat on Saturday, not a good day out!

Good old fashioned shirt tugging :)

AUFC manager Danny Nicholls trying to restore some order from the touchline.

Lucky not to end up in the book for throwing the ball away.

And Aylesbury's one good thing ...Aston Goss

Sounds (and looks) like a bit of a shambles  but that's what football is all about I guess... Tivvy are only a mid-table side aren't they? Not suprised that the boss man called it quits!

Nice to see that the ref was really paying attention in #3

Yea mid table Gavin, this defeat was the last straw it seems. Last week it was announced by the clubs owner that the players wage bill was to be slashed.. again.

So as you can guess the players minds may have been elsewhere.

I've also been told that several players wont be showing up for tomorrow nights game against Merthyr.

Marc - Nice technique shooting into the sun in #1 and perfect timing to stop the action in #4 with the shutter speed you had to use. Excellent work!

Thanks Jerry :)

I just found out this morning that #2 is going to be used by the local paper tomorrow, apparently the 'resignation' is a big story and they wanted an up to date picture of the manager in action.....lucky for me I followed Gavin's tips on watching the sideline action as well as that on the field.

Hope you manage to put a team out tonight!

I have not gotten comportable yet with the shooting into the sun... looks like you are getting the hang of it.

Question for you on the second shot there since I am still trying to figure out croping. You decided on a square crop for that one... is there a significance to the chap in the shot with the cap on? I have learned a lot about shooting tight... but there are also times to shoot (crop) wide, and haven't found a balance I am comfortable with yet.

Nice shooting marc btw....

Gavin, It's going to be interesting thats for sure. The reserve team manager is supposed to take charge...however he is also a 1st team player and may turn out to be one of those that dont show!

Mark, the other guy is Kevin England. He's the assistant manager who has followed Danny Nicholls (the manager) 'out the door'..hence including him in the shot. As you can see I just managed to squeeze most of him in the frame whilst getting Danny's 'gesture' in also.

As for shooting into the sun, dunno really ..just get lucky sometimes. I normally shoot in Av and IIRC this was no different. I tried to fully manual several times during ths game but what with the extreme backlighting in places contrating with very dark areas under the stands I found it a real hanfull to dial in what I needed fast enough and still come out with something useable. I think using manual will come with practice but mid-winter afternoons are prolly not the best time to try and figure it out !

Thanks for your comments :)

It's probably a tad late to post this but if you get a chance in the next twenty minutes then slap a fortune on Merthyr to win at Aylesbury tonight. It'll be boys v's men by all accounts.

Nice pics Marc, I see you've been sending them to Luke at the official site. It's good to see the pro's sharing. We often see tooled up photographers at our games but very rarely get the chance to see the pics!

BTW - my shirt tugging from Chesham on Saturday is better than yours

Marc, I hope you don't mind me popping in on your thread!

Here are my manager pics from Saturday. From left to right Chris Burns (ex-Pompey), Keith Knight (ex-Reading) are the Gloucester City manager and assistant. And in the background are Chesham boss Dennis Greene and assistant Keith Scott (ex-Swindon Town & Wycombe)

---- GavinGavin Tivvy have been serious under-achievers this season and are reputed to be splashing out over £5000 p/w on wages. To be fair to them Devon is a bit of an outpost in the league and they have to pay the money to attract the talent but they just haven't been doing it. Their manager is only in control still because he's also the clubs suvccessful commercial manager and is able to bring recoup alot of what he spends through the week.

That's a hell of a shirt tug, much better then mine!

Chesham are next up for Aylesbury on the 27th, I'll be there for that one all being well. It will make a change to get to another ground apart from Aylesbury...I'm hoping their lighting is better ;)

I always send pics too Luke, the club are good enough to let me in for free to practice so it's only fair to give them something back when I can.
