If you are a studio photographer and use digital can you please share with us your printing method?
Do you print in house?
Do you send out to a lab?
Thanks in advance.

The (few for now) people that I have taken portraits of are very pleased with the A3 prints from my Canon S9000.

I use the Canon S9000 for model portfolio shots, but if I am doing anything larger then 13x19" or am doing it as an art print, I drop it off at a professional printer near me.
I would have trusted the Canon, but a couple of my prints have turned pink. I am using Canon ink and Canon Paper for the ones that turned pink. So far no other paper has had the same problem. Strangely only a couple of the prints have turned pink, but not all of them.
I have gotten some noticeable fading from one of my sunlight tests a little faster then expected from a film print, but considering it is in the back window of my car (for over 2 months now), I expect some fading no matter what.

I send to walmart.com They are great. CHeap and good quaLITY. plus same results everytime...very predictable. There only downfall is, if they see what they consider a "professional" photo, they will hold your opic and make you sign a copyright release which can sometimes take a few days.

Thanks for the feedback thus far.
I use both the Epson 2200 which I feel is at par with a pro print and no fading issues thus far, but I also use a $20,000 60" HP 5500ps designjet which is showing some fading on some older prints that were not under glass. This is disapointing. However printing on Canvas is pretty cool.
I'm going to try the UV inks on the HP and see what's what.
I agree with the walmart and sam's photo processing. They both are the same and use Fuji processing. I have also used ofoto with very good results but I'm about to open a studio of my own and I'm not sure if I'm going to print myself or send out.
That's why I'm really interested in all of your opnions.
Keep 'em coming.

I use Walgreens drug and they have a Fuji frontier processor which does pretty good work. I color correct and burn them to CD before taking it to them. I tell them not to color correct because most of the lab techs don't know magenta from cyan. Pretty good results. I send my important stuff on-line to Cedar Falls,Iowa(USA) and I get fantastic results for about the same price as the local drugstore. I just got some engagement pictures back that were as good as anything I've ever gotten on my Mamiya 645..breathtaking. These are all jpegs at high resolution since the lab will not take tiffs or anything else. Anyone who thinks that you must shoot raw to get quality results would be shocked at the quality of these prints.I'd put a few on the forum but I really don't have the expertise to do so. good luck Brian

For most of my prints up to 8x10's I use Sam's Club...they do a great job...have great equipment, and incredible prices...Anything that is larger or requires some custom work I take to a pro lab that can handle all the other stuff.
