The Pigs.
This is my home town. When in the city if you have to meet anyone, you meet at the pigs :)

I guess you have to be a tourist to think to take these shots since we see it all the time.

Nice to see. Thanks Phil

Drat! I was sure the title referred to a band! Interesting art!

a. I wonder if the artist realises how much she has boosted bacon/pork sales there.

b. Maybe the artist is Islamic and playing on cultural diversity issues.

Interesting. Are they relatively new? I don't remember them from my childhood back in Adelaide. I used to meet all my friends at the big balls instead.

They were there the last time I worked in the city which was about 5 years ago. Not sure how long before that they have been there. King Kongs silver balls are still there :)

In case you didn't know John Martins is no more and the magic cave. My best memories of Christmas were the pageant and the magic cave.

Yeah I went back last year to see my dad, for the first time since I finished uni in 93. They've destroyed Glenelg foreshore. One of my fondest childhood memories was riding those boats that they used to have in the old side show ally. I was quite sad to see they'd got rid of all that.

I gave my dad a 300D about a year ago as I know how much he loves photography and he went down to the Buffalo to try and recreate a shot he has hanging on my grandmothers sunroom wall of the restaurant at night with the old ferris wheel in the background. All you get in the background now is apartments. They are hideous. Scratch another destruction up to the developers.

Roxby eh? Not another mining engineer are you?

Edit: I'd forgotten about the magic cave! That's REALLY going back now lol...last time I went to the magic cave would have been...jeez...early 80s?

Have to agree. It's an ugly place now.

LMAO! Scrolling through, looking for a completely unrelated topic and saw "Pigs in Adelaide". Knew straight away what it was. I miss Adelaide :( Yes it is sad about Glenelg and the Magic Cave. I'm another one of the Magic Cave era. I believe they still have the pageant, but it now ends at David Jones instead.

By the way Raptor: I used to live in Roxby. :) Small world huh?
