I like this photo. Very sharp and DOF is perfect for this. The contrast against the ceiling colours is great.

Peter

Cool. Execellent lighting.

What was the shutter speed? One half or a couple of seconds?

thanks for the kind words.

raztazor: This was taken inside the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. I got some strange looks from the tourists, all of whom were snapping pictures of Lincoln while I was shooting up the columns...

hey mike: only 1/80s, handheld, f2.2, 8mm (~40mm equiv.) The DOF at f2.2 is really something, eh? I bet you liked playing around with your dad's 'real' camera!

Great shot and very well executed. The color of the left colomn seems a little off. Did you try to warm it up a bit to be more similar to the right one? Might improve the shot.

Eric & Frederique: G1, no supplemental lens... :0

Henk: I noticed the color shift but it never really bothered me until you mentioned it - now I can't look at the darned pic without thinking about it! It's interesting how the left column, which is just 10 feet or so closer to the hazy sunlight, has such a cooler tone. You can even see the gradual shift along the top edge. I guess I'll have to process this some more!

Thanks again.
