Following on from this thread http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=121571 AUFC played Merthyr Tydfil last night with an almost unknown lineup and stand in manager in charge.

Not alot of action shots, I decided to play with the camera in manual and dabble with some 'stills' , concentrating on getting the right exposure.

A good crowd turned up, full of good spirit despite hard times..

Which is just as well, stand in Manager Gary Crawshaw needed all the support he could get

AUFC put out a youth team for the most part, battling hard in the midfield

All was well untill midway into the second half, then lack of fitness took it's toll

Merthyr eventually won the game 0-2

Great job Marc
Shame Father Christmas has his eyes shut.

What is it they say "you won't win anything with kids". Put them in I say as they have to learn at that level to play at that level. Invest in the future.

You "mentor" must be pleased with what he is seeing you produce, over to you Gavin.:lol:

To get any pictures under Non-League football lighting takes some doing... and I speak from painful experience! So this is another mighty fine set Marc... the last shot of the 'men of the match' is a bit special!

Gary Crawshaw looks evil. I can still rememember when he and his teammates cheated us out of the Trophy in 98!

Wasn't really him. It was more of his Stevenage teammates especially Mark Smith who is still turning out for Hitchin. He feigned injury to get our striker sent off.
