I just bought a 10D and was told that my older sigma lenses (approx 10 years old) would work. My older speedlight 420EZ also does not seem to work. The sigma site says that a conversion can be done to enable the lenses to work. has anyone tried this and would it work for my lenses? also, any help with the speedlite would be appreciated. While i'm asking questions, does anyone here do any ophthalmic photography? If so, have you used a 10D (or D30,D60) for fundus photography.

thanks

I know I've seen many topics on the Sigma lenses here. Do a search on Error 99 or just 99 in the subject line & I suspect you'll get what you need.

Check out this link dirctly from Sigma Corps web site. I currently have two lenses there for updating and expect to have no problems with them when I get them back. Note "This service will be provided as a courtesy and will not affect the lens’ performance with other Canon AF SLR cameras. In addition, a cleaning and a check of all lens functions will also be provided at no cost to the lens’ owner."
While waiting for my Sigma lenses to return I purchased the Canon 17-40 to keep me occupied...great lens!

I haven't done this myself,.. but as Lobo says,. a lot of people have and it seems to work just fine. Go for it!
