You're lucky your Dog didn't decide to lick it at this precise moment, Your new lens would have been SLIMED! Funny shot, and CONGRATS on your new lens. :D

Well that's the first time I've seen a macro of a dog's nose :)
Good shot- enjoy your new lens- don't forget to post some pics and ask questions here.

Yeah, I guess I could be considered a Christmas baby. My daughter, however, is an even better example that I am. Her birthday is today (the 23rd)...we brought her home on Christmas day 13 years ago. Ah, the teenaged years...what the heck am I gonna do NOW?
I'm looking forward to a couple of "down" days. Maybe I can finally find more than ten minutes to experiment with my new lens...which is about all the time I had to produce the picture below. It's my first try at shooting a water drop...they're a lot more tricky than I would've imagined. I'll get 'er figured out though. This is a teeny droplet on the back of a CD. Lighting is courtesy of the bathroom fixture. They'll get better, I promise!

Neat interference patterns in the drop. Keep playing :)
