I want to get a good quality photo printer. I'm looking to get good results for 8X10 and 5X7's that will last long. I'm leaning towards the epson 2200. It seems to have better print quality and longer lasting ink. However, it does print slower. Any one have either pinter... comments...
Also, when using these printer with PS7.0 is there any calibration required?

There is a rumor that canon is going to come out with an archival type printer...just a rumor and I don't know how much merit there is in it...Most people with the 2200 are very pleased.

I saw both printers at friends.
I like the Espon software coming
with the printer MUCH better then
the Canon Software ....

Hi there,
What I especially like about the Epson is
the control options, previews and ink
level.
My friend with the S9000 still isn't able
to see a preview. I am not saying the
Canon software doesn't have that option,
he can't find it ....
And when you are printing on A3 I can
assue you you want to knwo how your
pictures relates to the paper before
starting printing, A3 prints are expensive.

Odd. Assuming that your friend is using the latest drivers, the preview option ough to be clearly available on the first tab of the printing preferences dialog.
I remember not initially having the preview option on my PCs that were running Windows XP, but a driver update remedied this.

Agreed. :)

I've been using the 2200 for about three months. It's great. No regrets. It's so big and heavy my wife calls it the Humvee.
