Hey guys! Have you heard anything about the canon powershot A520?? I have read some reviews on it and people have said it was a good camera with manual controls which is what i am looking for.
Thanks!

It's not a bad camera at all. One of the best selling cameras at my job. While I opted to go for the a610, I'm sure I'd be happy with a 520 as well.

I just got a A520 for Christmas. I too was looking for an entry level camera with Manual mode. So far, I really like it.

i was looking for a camera for my parents (for xmas) with good picture quality, decent battery life, and ease of use for an older couple. I had played with a friends 510 and decided the 520 was perfect! they loved it, i highly recommend it

I just picked one up to replace my old point & shoot. I love it and the picture quality is great...

I have one too, it's pretty good, but the first time I put rechargable batteries in it, they were dead when I went to use it the next night. Fortunately I had another set of rechargable batteries and it hasn't been a problem since. I don't know how that happened.

I just got one for Christmas...about a week and so far so good. I love it! :)
Granted this is a big step up from my disposable supermarket cameras I was using just a month ago, but still....haha

It's a great little camera. The only problems is the flash takes an wee while to charge and it can struggle a little in low lighting. I've had my one for about 7 months now and wouldn't part with it. Here are my pics if you want to judge picture quality, etc: http://www.flickr.com/photos/evilkenevil/

I love my A510. I'm saving for a Rebel though...

First time posting...
I've had an A520 since the Summer time, my wife doesn't like it because she finds that its not as intuitive or robust as our A40 (old i know) but I find that it takes good pictures and love the size of it. One huge downfall for me has been the battery life of it. I never know when I am going to have power to use the camera. Worst part is that my wife likes the Canon S2 IS which we bought over Christmas and blows the A520 away so, it'll be making a happy trip to my parents as a gift.
