Got out to the park this afternoon,. still had a few hours of Sunlight.. if yoiu could call it that. Hide and seek behind the think clouds. Still it did shine through on occasion..
I started with the basics,. Ducks and Dogs :)
Samples don't show lens' full potential as with the low light I was pumping ISO anywhaere from 320 to 1600

So far I'm not at all concerned about the optics.. but I am concerned about how much more difficult this lens is to use and get good results from as compared to my Canon 500mm. At 2/3 more weight and no IS, slower aperture and therefroe slower shutter speeds in equal light.. handling this lens is a real trial. Even with a monster Gitzo tripod and a solid gimble head you can see the image moving all over @ 800mm..
On the other hand,. both the Zoom flexibility and the extreme focal length.. are truly amazing.... and this in a Zoom lens that is optically the equal of most Primes..
