Hello,
I have been looking and looking at lights for about 4 weeks now and I must say that there are a tremendous amount of lights available and what appears to be a bunch of c**p mixed in with them.

I am looking at a Speedotron Force 10 solution for a studio I am going to set up after the first of the year. They are back wards compatible with the speedotron black and brown line accessories and have 1000 ws per head.

Anyone here used these lights or have any other comments? The kit from B&H is rater pricey at $1949 for the kit and I will also buy the remote RF four channel trigger also. So I think I will have about $2500 invested in all with shipping.

Thanks,

Rick

Speedo gear is extremely rugged and reliable. I particularly like the bayonet attachment for their reflectors and speed ring. I think you should be very happy with it.

Thanks for the info.....I was afraid that the people on this board were so AB mezmerized that I wouldn't ever get any answers about Speedotron.

Thanks,

Rick

Speedo is heavy duty pro gear. Alot of big time commercial studios use it. I worked for a pro dealer of Speedo and we hardly ever got any back needing repairs.

LOL the thread is fairly young, there are time for Alien Bee recommendations yet - I know what you mean though, it does seem like the Alien Bee Forum sometimes. Good luck with the lights.

That's good information.....I think I will pull the trigger and get them shipped in here.

Thanks,

Yeah,
I am not putting down the "Bee's"....I have seen to many good photo's posted here to doubt that they are good equipment, but I was wanting something a little more rugged.

Thanks,

Rick

I have been using a Blackline 2401A for 14 years and it has never had one problem. I am thinking about upgrading to a 2403cx soon. Love the Speedotron stuff, bulletproof and consistant.
