Where in LA. are you going to be and what is your main route home? There is Arches and Zion Nat'l parks in Utah, Aspen and Telluride, CO., northern Idaho.... lot's of great scenery at the Grand Tetons. I am not sure what is open this time of year...you'd have to check on line.

That sounds fun. I'd get out a map, get on-line and plan the most fun route home that I could swing in the time frame. Lucky you!!

I don't look for the big things - everyone has done them. So much in fact, that there are marks worn by the tripods of frequent shooters. I like to look for the little things, the opportunities that happen just once. Adam's 'Moonrise over Hernandez' was a split moment in time - he saw it and had to set up quickly. Then it was gone. The Interstate is death to photography - too hard to pull over and take the shot. Its the smaller roads that are so interesting.
One of my most interesting shots was in a small town. The town dentist took over a former movie theatre and his business name was all over the movie signs. It was a fun shot.
