Hi all, new here, and i just had a quick problem. I went looking for info and found that I hadnt upgraded Zoombrowser EX since I originally got my computer. I had an old 4.x version and found the newest version 5.x on the site. I downloaded it and installed, but now when i try to connect Zoombrowser to the camera, i get a "cannot connect to camera, please check camera connection and try again" message.

Anyone else ever see this before? If not, is there a Zoombrowser compatibility list somewhere on the canon site? I'm thinking my old camera might not be supported by the new version of the software, and ill have to downgrade?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

EDIT: Update: SO I went and downloaded the latest WIA driver, and my computer now sees the camera. In 'My Computer', the icon for the S230 is there, and i can browse the files inside.

Strangely enough, Zoombrowser still cant see it. When I click on the 'Acquire Imanges' option in the Zoombrowser submenu, the menu just collapses. I see a little icon for a camera show up quick and then disappear in the system tray, and nothing happens. Zoombroswer just sits there...

I know i can just pull it out of the Windows folder now, but I kinda got used to the way Zoombrowser imported and sorted the files by date.

Any help would be appreciated...

Sounds like the program is trying to work. If it comes up and then quickly dissapears, I would bet money that another program or device is not allowing the program to work. For example- some all in one printers (printer , scanner and fax) have a software program that looks for an image or anything it thinks is an imaging device, when the camera program tries to access the camera the other program does not recognize it and the process is cancelled. Essentially a hardware/ software conflict. Disable the conflicting program and it will work. Check for any image monitoring software in your start bar on the right side next to your clock, it may be a printer icon. Richt click- disable or exit. Same thing with a firewall, or even antivirus. Try to disable those, try your camear and if it works- it's a conflict. Just be sure to re enable everything you disable. (Security) The easiest way is to restart the computer. Good Luck.
