HELP...problem with CF card error

Ok so I am really unknowledgeable with digital camreas, actually this isnt mine, but I need some help...I have the S30 camera, and a 256mb card. Now I have a pic that is very important to me, and it is saying "CF Card Error." Is there a way I can fix this problem? Like I said, I dotn know much, and am in desperate need of help...so if anyone could explain, it would be well appricated.
