If so, will you share your proecdures? i.e., PC with video card to projector etc...?

Hi There,
I've shown plenty of images through an Epson projector - and they use a series of my shots at the church most Sunday's... I've projected through a PC using Powerpoint for the presentation, and also direct off the monitor port on my laptop, using the projector as a monitor (quite literally, the fluoro light on the laptop screen blew a fuse one night, and it was the only way to see what I was doing on a 'Drug Proof Your Kids' night... all images have been crip and clear, but not to the level of a slide made from a digital image...
Cheers,
Stuart

Well, that's a good topic...
At first hand I planned to use my home DVD player to do that but it's quite complicated to achieve the complete process to got a DVD or compatible format.
In addition of that, the quality (resolution) is poor, so I'd rather go back to a classic video output (SVideo) from my Geforce video card of my computer.
The "slides" are preprocessed with "Picture to exe" software.

I've seen not-so-bad results from a so-called 'HP memories disk'.
That's basically a VCD created by a program that's bundled with HP inkjet printers (was included with HP officejet).
With my mother's 3 MP Kodak 4330, about 250 pics plus (mildly annoying) music go on one disk. They're played as continuos show.
+ you select the pics and the music to play with them, the rest is automatic
+ any decent computer has a CD burner nowadays
+ can be handed out and played by anybody with a VCD player
- Quality limited to VCD
- takes a long time (> 1 h) to create the disk
- very little interaction possible
Regards,
Andy

A guy I know showed a slide show that he had taken in Africa. He crammed the digital photo sizes too small, and he projected them with an LCD video projector that was not high resolution. There were three of us (photographers) sitting on the front row of 50 people, and we were totally disgusted. It looked like crap.
If you are going to go to the trouble to do it, then do it right. Show your best work, and don't make excuses for the weakness of your equipment.

Hi There,
Ref digital projection, I am a memebr of a digital imaging group in Kent U.K., we meet once a month and always use a digital projector to either demonstrate ideas with photoshop or paintshop pro.
We also use the same set up to project audio visual presentations or plain "slide shows".
The results, when viewed from 10 feet or more are very good. Get in close though and you can see the scan lines. All considered though from the 10 foot plus viewing distance, we have an 8foot picture, the results are very good.
The projector is quite old, a Sony VPL CS2, driven from a 900 speed laptop.
Only problem in owning one is the price, at least £1800!!
Hope this helps.
Alan
