Hey Guys and Girls,

I know this may sound really stupid, and I've been hesitating posting this as I have been trying to find an answer on google searches and by reading around this forum.

I own a Canon Powershot Pro1, and have been using it in the stock standard setup for around a year. I have taken some great shots with it and thought it was time to try something different. I purchased a lense adapter and some cheap lenses from eBay to try playing with filters, telephoto and macro lenses.

I purchased a non-OEM Conversion Lens adapter set for the PRO1, it is not the official canon one which is the LA-DC58C but a 3rd party version, see the image at the link below.

My issue is, that to use the lenses I purchased I need to attach both of the barrel attachments and then screw the lense on the end, but with the extra long barrel I get "tunnel vision" so to speak. I can see the sides of the tube, the only way I can get around this is to zoom until they dissapear.

Am I doing something wrong? I have a feeling it is something really stupid that I am missing.

I still have my Pro 1 as a backup camera as well as the primary camera for my girlfriend when we go out shooting. What you might want to do is only use one of the lens converters as opposed to two of them. I have only used one at a time for polarizing and colored filters. Really saw no need for the telephoto and macro lenses considering it took more light in order to illuminate the picture.

Using both of the converters will create the "tunnel" effect unless it is zoomed all the way out. I believe this is if you are using the tele-extender lenses or the macro you need to zoom it out anyway.

Hope this helps.

The camera is supposed to be zoomed out all the way to properly use these attachments.

Go to the menu and find the teleconverter setting and turn it on. This will limit the travel of the lens. It is designed for the Canon converter but may help with the third party.

Hmmm, on my S2, the converter settings don't seem to limit the travel of the lens (or zoom) at all no matter how I set it (and I am using the Canon teleconverter). As a matter of fact, the User Manual even warns me to zoom in--as rklepper says--or "...the image will appear as if its corners were cut off."
And it does.

As a matter of fact, I took some shots with the normal lens (no converter at all) but with the menu setting for teleconverter and for no teleconverter and see no appreciable difference in the shot, composition or exposure settings with the camera on "P."

The only difference I note is that the IS indicator icon switches depending on which converter I tell it is there. (Normal IS indicator, IS indicator with a "W," IS indicator with a "T.")
