King Parrot - Christmas Day Visitor

This female King Parrot visited us whilst having our Christmas Dinner at my sisters home.

Unfortunately I had the flash on rear curtain ( taking christmas lights night before ) therefore the picture is slightly blurred.

My sister gets daily visits by King Parrots, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Lorikeets and Rosellas.

Wonderful colors especially on Christmas. Must be nice to have such birds outside. We only ever see the likes of these in cages.

The parrot is a female, the male colours are reversed.

My sister has a feeder with seed, which is why they come, although the cockatoos would come just to vandalise the wooden railing.

Below are a couple of lorikeets taken ( same place ) with a humble Canon A20 back in 2001.

Lucky you.
You might be suprised that we have Parakeets wild in SE England. There are large noisy flocks in my local park.
