Maybe, but if not, I don't think it's too far a voyage to head down south for a meet.

Your right its not to far (as long as its in the North)

I'd be up for it. I'd also venture south of the border, so long as it wasn't too far south!

We could do castles and landscape. Loads of them within walking distance, or even take a few at Roslyn Chapel.....

Excellent idea. We can all meet up in the local highland public house where our hosts can purchase a round of drinks before we all set off to see the local scenery (Mountains not Girls) or!!
Our Scottish friends can come across the boarder to Cumbria's Lake District still buy the round of drink then we can all go and see...........Hic!! hic!!!:)

Hi, From an ex Brighton man who spent 23 years on the west coast of Scotland take with you weather proof clothing, midge repelent (normaly come out to play around 1700hrs) at least 2GB or more of cards, go to anyplace in the highlands (Fortwilliam,Mallaig and the islands).
Take your pics, go home and plan your next visit cause once seen you will return.
Also see these.

Yep the westcoast is amazing for landscapes and old lifestyle pics. Edinburgh is good, midlothian has a lot of history. Roslin Castle (where the The Da Vinci Code was filmed) and a few other castles within easy reach

hmmm...I'm from scotland, but I think I'm (slightly) young to meet up with a whole load of middle aged men I've never met... :D

I'm also interested in a Scottish POTN meet where we could also show these young whipersnappers like lakiluno a thing or two (mainly things like how slow we are in standing up from a crouched position, and what is the best false teeth cleaner ;) ).

I still think I'll
a) wait until I can afford a 350D
and
b) wait until I'm over 16
:D

Do you want to wait till spring, summer or in the next few weeks??
How about Edinburgh (the castle etc) then out into the country/woodlands ?

I would suggest Edinburgh too, but perhaps wait until better weather in spring. We could even just stick to photography within central Edinburgh (e.g. Castle, Royal Mile, Princes St, Holyrood etc) as this would be easily do-able by people coming by public transport.

Edinburgh is good for me, and yes, probably best to wait until spring for a better chance at the weather!

I spoke to John a while ago, but as his last post was last April, I'm guessing that he has moved on.
