I agree with you John, It will be a shame if it was intentionnaly done. Look at the 2 others bottles, they explain the accident.

I think you ran out of corks when corking the home made wine. Given that situation you were forced to drink the uncorked bottles. Why that assumption? The labels on the two intact bottles are alike yet the bottles are different shapes. Now, one of two things happened. Either the wine turned to vinegar and in shock you dropped a bottle after taking a mouthful, or the alcohol content was boosted and, as karfeef suggested, drunk!!;)

Well observed Tom... for the first part. If you observe the neck on the ground, the cork is still inside, so it's not a drunk'story.
