I just bought my wife a Canon A610 camera. I notice that when the LCD screen is faced outward it does not seem to lay compleatly flat in the camera as it does with my G5. Is this normal?

Comparing my A620 to some photos from a review of the G5, the A620 has an indentation on the camera body to be able to flip out the screen with your thumb like the G5, but also the screen itself has a little "shelf" on both sides of the screen to aid in the flip out process. I think this shelf is what is different. On my camera, the screen doesn't lay completely flush with the body when it's closed, but it's not that much different with the screen flipped around the other way, either. If you think it doesn't seem right, you might want to look at another A610 at a local store to make sure there isn't something wrong.

Yea, it's just how the camera is. Mine does not sit 100% flat either...but it's like 99% flat so I don't care. They all seem to do this.

My S2 IS has the same situation - NBD (no big deal).
