I really like this Colin - good capture and expression, she is very pretty. Have you considered lightening the eye area a little? (Not that I should be giving advice to anyone).

Good pose and smile but technically flawed. I think you should have used the fill in flash to get rid of the shadows, esp from her eyes.
The picture still has impact though

I agree with the earlier critique. One option may be th use of a passive reflector -- at least that was what was being pushed at a show 2 months ago.
Despite my firm and autoritative stand on this point, I myslf have nevr shot a face -- with or without flash!

You people are definately right about the shadowing on her eyes. Truth is it was a chance point and shoot. No posing. She was walking away when I called
"Hello, Miss Cown"! She turned her head and I snapped the shot.
I should have used flash. I've taken outdoor shots before at car shows and had more than adequate sun light but knew enough to use flash.
I guess it all comes down to experience.

You are def right, I have loads of pictures which I took in daylight and depending on where the sun was I have quite a few with shadows under eyes. That is teh beauty of photography..... its a long learning process, after a while you look at your old photo's and you know what could be done better.
