Geez just when I think I have decided on a wide converter / accessory setup, its backorderd forever! Argh!

I was going to go with the 52mm Kenko adapter, 52mm Hoya Multi-coated UV filter, 52mm Hoya linear polarizer, Lensmate Thin-Step 52mm-43mm, Tiffen Megaplus .75X, and a 67mm wide hood (installed / used in that order)

...the freaking lens is made of unobtanium

What should I get now and where?

I need it before July 4th.....

I will mostly be taking the G3 to car shows...which are almost always on bright sunny days. Will this setup work well for this...I was going to use the filter(s) before the 52-43mm and lens....I have been reading post after post and I am still not sure if I should put the polarizer before the lens.....should I use a different filter for the car shows???

TIA
Josh

I just searched online...is this what you are looking for?

I've not shopped here, just the results of a search.

Good Luck!

w302nv, that's a superb material! unobtanium! :)

You're gogin to have a hard time trying to get Tiffen lenses. Tiffen filed for bankruptcy sometime ago, then went back, and right now lenses are officially out of stock.

So the only source will be either ebay, or new old stock from shops that have them...

A very good substitute are Olympus A-28 or B-28 (0.8x) lenses. They're discontinued, but you can get them online easily. Drawback: 105mm front threads (argh, that for me = no ffront ilters). I have an A-28 and it however handles flare very very well, so you could pass without a hood.

Regarding the setup, I'd bet you'll get vignetting with any lens if you stack two filters and the thin adapter before the lens. So you'll have either to use only one filter or buy one for the front (67mm ouch!, better get the UV @67mm that could be pricey!).

Hi,

take a look at this link before you place your order!

http://kazutoku.cside21.com/G1andG2/report1_eng.htm#conv

It compares the most commonly used adapter lenses for G2 and G3, complete with sample pics.
