He just bought the new Mercedes 350S. What a great car.
Anyway, I used his car for a contest about "Dominant Colors" and this is what I got. What do you think guys.

the emblem pic is looking nice. for some reason i like to see more depth of field on the whole of the emblem, but i dont know what others think.
im not seeing many dominant colors here. everythings pretty netural and gray.

Exactly. That's what I was shooting for. E.g, Dominant Color.

A few comments on the photos (I am picky):
1) Great lighting on the Mercedes hood ornament. I would have changed the composition slightly to move the ornament to the right so it would be closer to 1/3 of the way over. The picture makes me feel uneasy as the emblem is too far to the right. What f-stop did you use? I would decrease the aperture size to increase the depth of field.
2) Love the f-stop on this pic. The emblem is focused well and draws my eye to the subject. I also like the exposure as it gives me the impression of studio shots which I love. I would crop more of the wheel off at either the top or the bottom of the picture.
3) Good composition. Once again, what f-stop did you use? I would decrease the aperture size to increase the depth of field. Very tough decision though because you don’t want the taillight in focus as it may draw away from the main subject.
Good stuff.

Excellent questions you are asking there John. Let me attempt to answer them.
1-a) I was semi-purposely avoiding the 1/3 rule. Gets boring after a while.
1-b) DOF. Kindly see this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=120653&highlight=myth)for a background. I purposely shot at shallow DOF, and really, that was the whole point of this photo.
2) Good point you have there. Thanks.
3) See no.1
All in all, you have very good comments. Appreciate them. Thanks!
