Did I get carried away with this conversion? I used a B/W action, followed by a few simple adjustments. Would appreciate your honest opinions, as my wife is no help. ;)

The conversion looks fine to me. In fact, you MIGHT want to increase the brightness and contrast just a smidgen, as it looks like there is no white white anywhere.

If you would have asked, "What, in general, can be done to help this image?" I would have said to fix the perspective. (Unless, of course, the structure actually does lean over to the right and you are trying to capture that!)

Thanks for the help Rad. I guess I should have corrected the perspective as you said, but was more interested in just getting a B/W process that works for me.

As far as the whites, I'll see if I can bring them out a little. This shot really didn't have a lot to work with except for the dome at the top of the building.

I really enjoy good black and whites, and just haven't made much of an effort before to try to acheive some of the results similar to what I see on this forum. I"m trying some of the different ways to convert, and hopefully will find one that I like.

I do appreciate your help.

There is a macro in photoshop for creating custom black and white or desaturated images.
I would work with the levels 1st and then work with the curves to get more black and more white. Right now it's a bit too grey.

That's my two cents.

Thanks Paul. That is exactly what I was looking for. I'll just keep working on it.
