Greetings,
Great shot on the plate of strawberries. Feel like putting them into my mouth. Now you have this EF85m f1.8, never leave home without it. Enjoy...

I don't think I've seen a single lens that as loved as much as this 85mm f/1.8. In all honesty, I don't think I've ever read a negative comment about it...

Come to think of it, neither have I. It's a wonderful lens and spends a lot of time on my camera. Every owner of a Canon DSLR should have one.

Great pic. Shows both the incredible potential of this value packed gem and also gives a hint of one of it's two achilles heels: CA. There is just a touch of it (although fixable I'm sure) on the 100% crop.
Even so, outstanding clarity and a nice take.

Jeff

It focuses fast too. Try it out at a sporting event sometime! I do have to agree with Big Hands though. In certain circumstances CA will raise it's ugly head.

Ok it is...chromatic aberration which is explained here:

I don't see it in your pics, but even with the explanation I don't know what I am looking for:)

CA will typically look like a small spectrum where there should be white. It's the result of the different wavelengths of light being spread out by the lens to different amounts, like a prism does. Ideally, a second (or third, or . . .) lens element will reverse the colour fringing from this.
