Just a quick test to see if I am getting things right in embedding images in the messages.

If this works then I will post a larger image for people to offer critiques.
BTW, what size is suggested for use in this area?

The size you have is fine.
The image should fit comfortably on the page with no scrolling. Even at 600x800.
A good average to aim for is not more than 600 Kb.
Also try to avoid putting too many images on one post.
Most people, myself included will bypass collections of images in one post.
Like "Check out my Album"
or "Photos from my trip to Europe."
I'd say two on a post is about maximum.
Remember, Less is More Impressive.

Thank you. Your comment is very much appreciated. That was part of a sequence of 42 images I shot over a 2 hour period the day after my 10D arrived.
