Odd functioning cookies

My sign in behaves strangely. When I open this Forum from favourites (updated with the new IP) the sign in box appears. When I sign in I can se my self as signed in but the sign in box is still there and I'm not able to post.

To sign in "for real" I have to delete the cookie from my harddisk before I connect to the site and then sign in. Any ideas on how to solve this somewhat dysfunctional cookie behavior?

Hard to say about the reason, but there are not many cookie problems around here which is surprising when you see how active this forum has become. :)

One thing to check: see that you enter the site using

http://photography-on-the.net

and not

http://www.photography-on-the.net

both work, but latter may confuse cookies when site may force the non-www version in some places.

Also, Check that your browser security settings are not too strong - maybe you have a firewall configured to handle cookies as well? What about virus scanner - is it set to kill all cookies?
