I took picture with my G3 in raw format.
But when I lok at them they seem to have a lot of noise and when i use File viewer utility to convert them in tiff or jpeg the noise is still there.
Is it because i took my picture outside with a iso 400.

jfkill,
The ISO setting is definitely the culprit. Unless you are in a situation where you know you need more light sensitivity, you should always set your camera the the lowest possible ISO.
This link from Canon states the same thing.

Just for reference... Cameras are built (especially digital cameras) to perform BEST at the LOWEST ISO rating. That means ISO 50 on the G3 will give the best, sharpest pictures. Try and shoot most of your subjects at that speed.
Just a tip learned from experience...
Thanks,

Try the noise reduction program at www.neatimage.com. Reduces noise without loosing detail. See improvements even at ISO 50.

I agree about Neat Image....I made a profile for each ISo setting and I run every image through it. It does a fantastic job of reducing noise.
