Hello all:

How many Southern Albertains would be intersted in meeting up in the Calgary area for a POTN meet? Hell, one day we could hit town then drive out to Banff and shoot around there? I have proposed (if I remember) the idea to Sheldon, but how about anybody else?

Not a bad idea. I think that closer to spring would be better. I think I'm going to be travelling pretty much until then.

Alright! Any other takers? Sheldon - If you're traveling into the city, give me a heads-up, we could always meet up!

That would be our summer. I missed it last year while taking a nap after shoveling the snow in the driveway.

Banff is a great spot for taking photos, I'm in.

PS. Steve last week in Calgary it was 13C or 55F, not bad for mid January!

I would be game to get together. Life is real busy for me, my company does home building and renovations and we are going full out right now, but as I am the boss (shhh... don't tell my wife) I can easily get away with a bit of notice. Send me a note once you all find a time that works for you.

Hi,

A date between 16th and 24th March in Banff, would be great, as I am flying over from the UK to throw myself down a mountain on a snowboard (badly)...

Will be the fifth time I've been in ten years, kinda like the place!!!

Would it be wrong to post a couple (And I mean only a couple) of pics, I took last year from Sulphur Mountain?

Not at all Mike, we can't be reminded too often of the beauty that surrounds us.

Right now, it looks like I'll be in Alberta the first week of April. I can can bump that back if need be. If this is done on a weekend, I would just fly in a day or two early...

Okay, these were taken almost a year ago with a 300D and 100-300usm. I'm not posting these as shining examples of photography, just to give anyone finding this thread an idea of what the area looks like!

This is banff, taken from Sulpur mountain, the town is central and the Banff Springs Hotel bottom right.

Here is the old weather station on the mountain! It is like the top ofthe world!
