Does the G2 have a function where a bunch of pictures are taken successively after pressing the shutter? Some manufacturers call it a "Best Shot" function.

I don't know about the G2 but the G1 has a "bracketed exposure" function that takes 3 shots at specified + and - exposures from your reference exposure. Good idea to have the camera on a tripod though as you don't get to push the shutter three times, but only once for 3 shots.

As far as I know only the more advanced Nikon digital cameras have this feature in which 10 identical shots are taken in rapid succession and the camera decides for you which is the "best" (in focus) one. It is in Phils review of the Nilon 995 at the bottom of this page:

This is different from exposure bracketing on the G-2 (or 995) in which 3 shots are taken a few seconds apart: one at the specified exposure setting and at some specified exposure interval above and below the first. All 3 are saved to memory and its up to the photographer which or all they would like to keep.

I just upgraded to a G2 and it also have Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB Mode)
