This is my first post in this forum. This shot is my first attempt at a macro photo after getting my 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro a month or so ago. You never know what is down in those screw heads on the wall plates until you look closely.

Shot at f/2.8 @ ISO 100. The lighting is not great, because I blew out part of the head of the screw. It is also a little out of focus, because this was before I got my tripod. :)

Comments, critique, etc., welcome.

Neat shot- you are already finding that one of the problems with macro shots is DOF- you probably would have been better off either to use a flash or up the ISO so you could shut the aperture down to F8 or smaller to increase the DOF.

Looks like your head is worn out....oops, I meant the screw driver head:).

Do not have a macro lens yet but from what I have learned here, for macro shots, you should use aperture in the range above f8.

Keep shooting

Thanks for the comments, LordV. The one thing that I need in my kit is a flash. Right now, all that I have is the built-in on the Rebel XT, but that is not sufficient for this kind of stuff at all.

others: I will try and repost a link to the photo tonight. I am not sure why it is not coming up for some. I uploaded it and attached it using the Advanced editor. Weird.

I reattached the image. Hopefully it will work for others now.
