i have sold my wife & kids plus a load of music stuff and purchased a 10d, as soon as the battery was charged i was off taking pictures of everything i could find around me, the results were good, some sharp some not so sharp it was the same with my nikon f80 not all the pics were sharp, anyway i loved the camera the moment it was in my hands and i was very very happy! " UNTILL " i started to read the various forums around about the sharpness issue on this camera. its amazing how quickly doubts can creep into your head, perhaps the sharp pics i took were not so sharp after all, what do i do now get the wife & kids back, send the camera back im a bit confused ?
derek

ps take this lightheartedly

Look around, read the forums, run some tests, rule out all possible user error and if all that fails, send it back to Canon. Mine is in the shop after extensive testing on my part proved beyond any reasonable doubt that there was indeed some sort of calibration error.

High end Digital will always be softer out of the camera than low end digital or even film. It is a byproduct of the CCD/CMOS imager designs and their anti aliasing filters. A little dose of Unsharp mask in photoshop will usually yield great images. I have seen some amazing sharp and detailed images from 10D's, just not from mine.

The 10D is a great camera, don't let paranoia ruin your enjoyment.

Good Luck to you!

before anyone else replys i really do love this camera but just wanted to point out that perhaps reading to many topics in forums can be bad for your health and some paranoia can set in.
