Which one comes out best, the colour or the b/w version?

Your opinion please.

I would go for the BW Johnmate.

I personally like the color better. The black and white is so much in that grey midtone area, it doesnt entice the eye as much as the color. Perhaps if you over exposed the sky in the BW to absolute white

I like the colour version.

The composition mean there is not a everwhelming amount of colour that leads to distraction. I think the colour works well.

Personally, I don't like either one but.....I would take the black and white one and run it through one of those b&w plug-in filters like the Imaging Factory "convert to black and white pro." They have a 30 day free trial and if you like it, I'd get it if you want to do great quality black and white conversions. I am including one I did of your bottle with a magenta pre-filter and a lot of custom tweaks. It is still not a great picture but I like it better than the "desaturated" look of the B&W that you did. I think the black and white version tells a better story than the color one, but it depends on HOW you "develop" your black and white negative. For this, you either need to be very adept at filtering or you need a good plugin! I also added just a touch of lens flare at the bottom of the bottle where the sun was reflecting off it. It is a pretty hard picture to do anything with without totally changing the background or something. I don't know, I am definitely NOT a pro by any means. Just thought I'd give you my input which I think is what you want.

Hope you don't mind me toying around with the shot but that is what the critique forum is all about!
