I just got my Rebel (the original one comparable to 300D) and am looking to upgrade my zoom lens from the one it came with. If anyone has one to sell, I am interested. Thanks. jhayesemail@aol.com

John,
welcome to the forum :D.
I don't have a lens to sell to you, just some advice you might find interesting (or not):
... if you want to buy a lens, it's a good idea to make up your mind before what kind of lens you want to buy
... to make up your mind what kind of lens you might want, consider why your current lens is not sufficient for you:
- is the focal length too short?
- is it not sharp enough?
- is it not 'fast' enough (higher f/stop likf f/2.8 allows more light into the camera)
Also, consider what kind of photography you want to do. You'll need different lenses if you want to shoot sports than if you want to get macro shots of bugs or portraits of people or landscapes (just to give some examples).
Unless you provide some information on these questions, you make it very hard for us to advise you which lens to get.
And finally ... read about which lenses other uses consider helpful and for which reasons. That's what the 'sticky' threads (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=86975) in the 'Canon EF lenses' section of the forum are for.
Finally, if you have found a specific lens you want to get, you might post a 'wtb' note in the 'Marketplace' section of the forum.
Hope that helps you to narrow it down a bit.
Best regards,
Andy

I bought and sold a few via ebay when I first got my 350D. The net effect was zero cost, whilst I made my mind up what I needed.
