Ok just how did you New year get started? I thought mine was off to a great start until about 1:00 this afternoon. Was out running erands and on the way back home when I ran a red light and was nailed by a bigass pickup truck,
My wife hit a deer in this area just before Christmas at about the same time of the day so I was scanning left and right as I approached the intersection. The traffic light was green and I checked traffic l & r and then noted that a vehicle coming toward me had just turned on his right turn signal so I had plenty of time to make my left turn before he got to the intersection. I hit the gas and then, just as I got completely across the crosswalk, I realised the light had turned red. I never saw a yellow light at all. Anyway there comes this big honkin' pickup & my car is now history:(:(:(. Thank God that no one was hurt in the pickup and that I didn't hurt any worse than some scrapes on my forehead and shoulder and bruised ribs. I didn't realise how much my ribs hurt. I can't imagine what broken ribs would feel like.
Oh yeh, I had my camera & gear with me too. The second thing I did after making sure I wasn't hurt too bad was to check on my gear:):). All of my stuff came through the crash ok:):). Then I called the police to report the accident. Worst part about this whole thing is that I've only got limited collision on my vehicle so, since this was my fault, I'll have no insurance to help get a new car.:(:(:(:(
Believe it or not, I got my camera bag out of the car and I didn't even take a picture! My hands were shaking so bad that I didn't even try.
Well I guess that the rest of the year will go better than this.:lol::lol::lol: But the best thing is that no one was hurt. It's a lot easier to replace a car than a human being. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to express. It's pretty frustrating to try to figure out how I missed that light change.
