G3 Movie File Format

Not that it's the reason people buy the G3, but I have looked and looked and looked for info on what format the G3 movies come in. Are they .mov? .mpeg? .avi?

And how's the quality?

The file is saved in .avi format, and as far as i can see, the quality is VCD format far better than analog ones transfered into digital. I have experience in video transfer if my opinion helps in any way.
