Hi,

I'm looking for some kind of tool with which I can easily create and upload my photographs. I have a website (www.joepleenen.net), my webhosting company works with PHP and MySQL. I create my pages in Macromedia, I work with Photoshop 7. EE looks great and I wonder if this is what I'm looking for.

Do have I to learn PHP and MySQL? What should I do to get EE working? I have lots of pics what I want to share, my current workflow takes too much time.

Thanks in advance

If your server has php with ftp and exif modules installed (most do) and then either GD2 or Imagemagick with wrapper library "Imagick" installed you can make use of the next EE which has full upload/resize/exif support, TBA really soon now.

Current EE requires you to resize files in e.g. PS, and upload files using any ftp program.

Running EE does not need any PHP or MySQL knowledge. You need to have PHP and MySQL installed on your server but that is something that is done by sysadmins, not you.

EE 1.22 install guide is in http://photography-on-the.net/ee/install.php . You'll need to install that (list looks long but actually very fast to do), and then update to 1.3RC http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5552 which has many improvements, that's what runs my galleries on this server.

Latest version of EE Backup is in http://photography-on-the.net/ee/backup/eebackup_105.zip
