Hello,
Just purchased the great G3, 3 days ago and need some tips on getting good macro mode shots. How do you do this? I do not have any of the extra add ons for the camera, but I want to get a clear, not too bright or dim shot. I have a tripod and currently use it. Which modes are the best for macro mode? How do I get te shot to come out not grainy even if I have the digital zoom on 14x? How do I get it to focus correctly? What about lighting? This is my first 'real' digital camera, but I woud like to learn A LOT about the G3 and taking macro mode shots. Would you please help me? Thank you for you time!

ummmm don't use your digital zoom if you want a picture without grain. just try putting your g3 on suto and hitting the macro button (lil flower looking one) you don't need a tripod, a steady hand and good subject matter is all you need. i took a macro shot today and posted it on a wine making forum, it seems my grapes are being attacked by some funky kind of mite. here is the shot-

play with your g3 a bit and show us what you get, you might be suprised how well it does without any filters or other attachments. good luck :)

Shalom, the answers to many of your questions reside here in past posts. I suggest doing a search for "macro" or other relevant keywords and that should bring you up to speed. Shalom :)

Squid, I hope you solve yer mite problem fast, I'm getting thirsty looking at your grape leaves :)
