How to turn off the flash? [Archive] - Canon Digital Photography Forums

Yes, this should be simple. Hit the key with the lightning-bolt type arrow on it. BUT, Is there some other way to turn off the flash that then disables that button? Just curious if something like this may be my problem with why I can't get it to flash.
