Gord--

Go to the Help link: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/help.php. Look at the UCCB codes. The left-hand column is what you need to type in the message.

Hope this helps (HTH)!

Well call me an idiot, but i'd like clarification.

Can you imbed without having a server? Tip is nice but it doesn't help me much. Can you clear this up for me?

Hi Gerry. I have finally learned how to embed a photo.
I have a MSN community page set up with photo's I have taken. So I download my photo's to my community page. After that I simply go to the thumb nail photo On my community page and click on it. The photo then appears larger. Right click on the photo. The properties will appear. It will give you the (URL address).
I hightlight the entire URL and copy it to the message board. Then I add img with brackets [ ] around the img. before and after the URL I just pasted. I then preview the message. See the help link at the top of the page.
Look luck. Gord

To embed a photo you need to have the photo on a server which is connected to the internet. Just browse to your photo and copy the image address to the message here. Add (IMG) before and (/IMG) after the photo address, with square brackets.

Many photo album sites do not permit linking to the photos for other servers, and this is most likely the reason if embedding does not succeed. If you can't embed, just post the link without any extra code and people can go to your page to see the photos.

This site is very much alive - but this is a very old discussion, and is more regarding embedding photo's on this web site than attaching them to email... what email package do you use? What problems are you having attaching (or embedding) them??

Cheers,
Stuart

Well....I'm embarassed....you guys are not only active but vigilante! Thanks Pekka. If I understand you correctly my intended photo's need to have a net address. I have a website, maybe I can put them on a pg temporarily, get the address and use the IMG code. I don't know of another way to get an 'address' for them. Thank you for your help. I'll try it. Hotrx7, this forum came up on Google. I use an HP digital so guess I'm an intruder. What I really want to do is be able to embed a photo 'IN' my email - MSN will open the photo for the receipient but that's not good enough for me. I want it inside the text, not at the bottom of the page. Last time I wanted to be able to do it was when I was sent a candle for the victims of 911 to pass on. The candle wasn't there, only the box and I couldn't fix it. Rats. Thank you for answering an old question for a new idiot. jp

As I leave my parting comment for the work exhibited here is: AWESOME! Canon should be honored.
