Hi everybody. I've been a POTN member for quite a while now but I'm usually hanging around in the other categories. This seemed to be the best category to post this picture.
I was bored last night so I took my new Peleng fish-eye lens out for a little evening stroll. This shot was taken with an exposure of around 30 seconds at f/11 and ISO 100. I made sure to wait for a car to pass so I could get a streak of colors from the head & tail lights.
I hope you like it. Your CC and comments are appreciated very much. :D

I love it! Fantastic colours.
I'm coveting a wide angle something fierce.

Wow, impressive! I have been thinking about getting that Peleng, it really looks like a great performer. Did you have to defish this in post processing?

That's it I'm taking my Peleng out tonight! Great shot, lovely rich colours and nice and sharp at 100iso. I did some band shots with the lens a little while ago at 400iso, the results were disappointing.

No I didn't, but you can see some vignetting in the four corners because I forgot to clone them out. This lens is capable of providing a distorted fish-eye effect when tilted up or down, but it looks pretty good under certain circumstances like this one.
Thanks very much for your comments. :D

Well to tell you the truth, I originally had an orange tint too. But since I shot in RAW, I was able to click on the sidewalk for my white balance and everything magically turned out the way you see it here. Thanks very much for your comments. :D

Wow That is how to make a boring street and hydrant look as interesting as anything you could travel the globe for.
Love it!!
Would love that in full 1280 x 1024 for my monitior as a background desktop (hint hint ;) )

Did you do something to get the star effect on the street lights or did it just come out that way?

That is very cool, Joel. Love that the fire hydrant is in the forefront and the streetlight looks like a giant star.

Great shot Joel. That Peleng fish-eye has much potential. Keep these up and I will easily talk myself into acquiring one.

Very nice shot.
May I ask what program you use to allow you to chose the white balance by clicking on something in the pic? I'd love to have a go at it.

All I did was close the iris down. Most lenses will make a star effect on a bright point of light just by closing down the iris to f/11 or greater.

Thanks Gregory. I shot in RAW and processed the image in DPP. You should have gotten it with your Canon DSLR. It has a "Click WB" feature that lets you click on something white in the image. The sidewalk is more of a gray color, but that works too, just as you can white balance your camera on an 18% gray card.

Thanks. The answer to your question is in my reply right before your post.
Edit: I think you'll also have pretty good success if you set your white balance to the outdoors, sun setting.

Really nice shot Joel! Impressive work.
Question: (you didn't expect these many question, did you?:D) Did you stop down the EC for this shot, or just neutral? Thanks.

Thanks very much. From past experience, I knew that most night time shots come out more exposed that I prefer when the decision is left up to the camera, so I manually adjusted the EC down approximately 1 f/stop.
