My nearly brand new 300 2.8 IS lens is
now more then 7 weeks in repair at
the Canon service Centre in the Netherlands.

It had a communication problem. Since
2 weeks the status is 'parts are in, lens
not repaired'.

'Canon' and 'professional'

Are these words going together ??

Did you call then and ask why the delay?

Here in the US if you are a professional photographer and are registered with Canon Professional Services they will give you a lens on loan during repair. You may want to check but I believe there are similar services in Europe.

Hi I'm new to the forum.
My wife and I own a photography business and I'd like more info in getting enrolled in the Canon Professional Services that you spoke about.

Get in touch with Canon USA.

Although these forums bear the Canon logo,. they are in no way actually affiliated with Canon Directly.

Yes, in fact I did ask them.
First, there were no parts and
after 5 weeks the parts were in
but they still didn't repair the lens.
Yesterday they promissed to phone
me back, they didn't. I guess I have
phoned them about 7 times totally.
