My photos are a lot different but anyway I just got bored taking straight photos, after 40-50 of the same thing it didn't add interet, it seemed everyone had that photo, every took that photo.Photo#2 is my trademark, Dwight, a famous professioanl Band photographer can't figure out how to do it. I don't follow styles, I follow what I like.

No offense, but that effect in the first four images kinda bugs me. Doesn't look very much like a "professional trademark", more like you spilt a drink into your camera. On the other hand, the last two images you posted were good. I like the colors in the last one. It's nice with the silhoutte and the small bit of key lighting.

How does it bug you? ( other than the dust, which I fully understand)

There's nothing in the first four shots that says band or music, a michrophone could mean anything. Also blurred band shots are fine, but I think these are too ghostly. The last two shots are great though, I particularly like the last, high contrast and high colour image. Nothing wrong with pushing the boundaries, but again I think the first shots have lost their relationship with the intended subject.

"The people who make mistakes, make everything else!" "Sometimes we do not see the forest for the trees." If these guys are your friends it might be hard for us to see them through your eyes ... try to empathize and figure out what we see in your images.
I really like the last two even though they are miles apart stylistically.
BTW, I think your sig is getting too old for "coming soon" ... nobody worth your interest cares what equipment you'd like to have at this point in your career and it reflects a certain (perhaps appropriate but perhaps undesirable) maturity level. Just copy the equipment list in my sig ... I've got lots! :-)
And don't ask the critics what they were doing when they were your age ... it might scare all of us! :-)

Hey AC, I see you changed your signature - did you finally go Canon?
I Love your signature shot and the last one is great (but then I like the abstract).
In this context I don't agree that its hard to see its a band shoot. Out of conext - yes, but thats not the case. I kinda like them and your dirty sensor ads to the feel - nice job.

My opinion - I think artsy, whatever you want to call them, photos have their place. It all depends what you want to ultimately do with your photos. I know that for what I'm doing and what I look for when choosing photos to run on a band, you need to be able to tell it's a band and who it is. I agree that after awhile shots all start looking the same and it can get boring but that isn't just because they are band shots, it also depends on the band. A band that just stands there and are non-descript bore me too. There are some nights that I don't even shoot the entire three songs I'm allowed.
