Gateway - Several Great High End Camera Deals! (Posted by: Brian)
Here are 3 GREAT cameras that usually don`t go on sale. Let`s just call these "cameras for the big boys". High quality ones. The ones that make you drool when you see the pictures. Anyhow, Gateway has a 10% sale on digital cameras right now, and you can actually get these a lot cheaper than usual. Gateway is also an authorized seller, so you are not just randomly buying an high end toy from a random internet dealer. Enter coupon code SAVE10 for the discount. Expires 6/26/03.

* Click here to go to the Gateway website. GATEWAY
* Here are two not as expensive cameras:
o Minolta Dimage 7i is on sale for $649.99 $584.99. Change the search option on the top left corner of the page to Item No. and search for 7004285.

As a relatively new 10D watcher, it has been interesting to see the availability picture change in the last few weeks. My local Canon retailer went from "Don't even have a demo." to "Got five in stock. " in a week.

Your "10D's FOR SALE" note sent me to ebay.com where I was surprised to see 40 hits on a "canon 10d" search.

Has the U.S. suddenly becom awash in 10Ds?

I suppose this sounds snobbish, but I really enjoyed going to the Santa Barbara zoo or places where lots of people had digital cameras, and everyone would look and envy me with my 10D setup. Now, even with WalMart jumping in the game, I don't get that "revered" feeling any more, and I kind of miss that! I'll never forget, years ago when I was at the zoo and me and a guy next to me were firing off shots of this ellusive leopard. He must have wasted a whole role of film hoping to get the right shot. I just looked at my screen and realized I had several good shots. He just looked at me and said "wow!" That is when I had my Minolta Dimage7. Now 'days I see all types of digital cameras when I go places but they are generally the CCD type and MUCH less expensive, but I am starting to see a lot more dSLR models, especially the 10D.

It reminds me of the PT Dream Cruiser I bought for my son. Unfortunately, he died the day he was to get it and never saw it, so now I have it. It is gold and has been for the last year the only gold one on the California Central Coast....until last week! My reaction was strange. It was like "why does that guy have to have a car just like mine?!!" I guess the bottom line is that this "mass flooding" the market with 10D's will lower the price of dSLR's in the near future and will make them more affordable for us. Unfortunately, that will probably exclude the lenses. Can you imagine getting the latest dSLR for $800 and then paying $800-$1500 for a lens?? The near future will be very interesting!!
