Will the Sunpak 622 Super Pro equipped with the canon AF assist module work with the 10D, in terms of voltage? I know it will not do E-TTL. A friend has this setup on his 10D and it seems to work beautifully, although he has to make adjustments for no E-TTL. He has had no voltage problems thus far.

It's easiest to simply measure the trigger voltage on the flash unit. Then you will know for sure.
Turn on the flash and let it wind up. Then put a DC voltmeter across the cable connector where it would plug into the camera. If it is more than about six volts, it is bad.
