hello, this is my first pic so be nice....
i have a canon g5 but find the autofocus too slow to take good candids...
i love taking candid artistic nudes but i noticed i can't post those yet...that's fine i'm happy to wait and look around here..here is a pic of our lovely daughter that i tweaked in photoshop and made b/w using the channel mixer..
i hope in future i can post more and i hope people can help me improve my pics....cheers bunks

Nice shot, the g5 does take good pictures. Your right it is a bit slow on the focus. My old g2 is the same way.

ok let me get this out of teh way...cute kid. lol
as for critiques you should post this picture over in the critique section to get those. we just us ethis section to get "aw cute kid comments" lol.

as for the picture i have a few comments/critiques if you so desire:
1. try and capture more detail in the eye. the eye here is totally black with no detail.
2. the shadow on the side of the head looks pretty bad. i personally am extremely anti flash. i only use it if i absolutely positively have to. its extremely difficult to get an awesome shot with good flashes, let alone the crappy ones they have onboard any cameras. take a look on ggogle for natural light photography. i think youll find the really good portraits are taken using natural light (unless you happen to have a studio).

agree, very cute kid, the capture doesn't do a whole lot for me.. but if you go into 'critique', ie... (robert lay)... :) :) ... you will get the responses you are looking for. Keep posting looking forward to more from this cutie... sari.

thanks for comments!!..yeah i hate the flash on cameras as the drop off is really severe....
im not sure which is the shadow side of her head tho....but in future ill try the critique section..thanks again

hmm...if you cant see the huge shadow on the left of the picture (on the floor) you may have more way to go than i thought. lol
